If the many virtues of air to water heat pumps are not being extolled to customers and businesses, then they should be as a matter of urgency, Uponor has told installers.
The UK’s number one underfloor heating specialist has offered its most compelling case for heat pump installations and believes that the energy efficient product represents the perfect accompaniment to its existing underfloor heating and plumbing systems.
Uponor is working alongside Toshiba Carrier to offer complete system solutions, which are expected to significantly penetrate a market growth of around 100,000 units per year over the next 10 years.
And it has offered four compelling reasons to consider heat pumps as a superior heating provision for installers to use.
1. Uponor’s heat pumps fall within the renewable heat incentive, which provides businesses and the public sector with cash back for the generation of renewable heat. It is a government-backed measure, to be introduced in July 2011, to make production of heat through renewable means more financially attractive.
2. Heat pumps offered by Uponor are also MCS accredited so they are eligible for applicable Government renewable incentive payments, in addition to the RHI.
3. Underfloor heating is THE ideal partner for heat pumps due to its low operating water temperatures, offering cost savings greater than 60 per cent in comparison to a conventional radiator heating system.
4. Installer courses are now available from Uponor’s Lutterworth training academy, putting theory into practice and delivering peace of mind for installers.
Uponor’s applications manager Neil Young said that the brand could also steal a march over its competitors due to Uponor’s focus on ‘bespoke system solutions’ instead of sales of individual products.
He said: “A lot of companies sell heat pumps. What we do is to look at each individual project and offer more in terms of the finished solution. We will assess each project individually and see what is the best way forward. If heat pumps are suitable we can specify the right one together with the most appropriate underfloor heating package.
“If heat pumps are not a suitable option, then we will be able to say why not and find a solution that works.
“Each product will also boast a three year guarantee as standard, which to our knowledge is the longest agreement of its kind in the market.”
