CAFOD
velta’s innovative TABS cooling system is currently being installed CAFOD’s (Catholic Agency For Overseas Development) new headquarters in Southwark.

Situated on a car park site adjoining Pugin’s listed St George Cathedral in Southwark. The velta team are installing TABS directly into the slab to cover five floors of the office building. As the pipes are contained within the ceiling they use cold water to cool the building’s hot air as it rises, maintaining a comfortable temperature cost effectively. The system will be run from a heat pump and utilises free cooling during night hours making it highly efficient.

Weather compensated, the system will provide maximum internal comfort whatever the external conditions. Once installed, the system requires very little input from the end user and to a degree will control itself when cooling is required.
