Uponor receives the Plus X Award for S-Press PLUS

One of the world's most prestigious innovation prize honours has been given to Uponor across three categories- Innovation, High Quality, and Functionality for S-Press Plus

The new generation of Uponor press fittings, its S-Press PLUS series, has been crowned with the one of world’s most distinguished prizes for innovation, the Plus X Award. The jury of experts has awarded the system the coveted quality seal for the categories Innovation, High Quality, and Functionality. Markus Friedrichs, Head of Sales for Germany at Uponor, remarked “We are delighted with this award, as it once again confirms the unique product features of S-Press PLUS, this time from an independent perspective”.

In developing the S-Press PLUS products, Uponor has injected its practical, hands-on experience from developing and installing more than 500 million fittings over the course of 25 years and more. These efforts have produced a new fitting system that impressed the jury in particular by its robust combination of materials, flow-optimised design, and the rapidity and ease of on-site Installation. Summing up their decision, the jury stated that, "The Uponor S-Press PLUS fittings for composite piping offer the optimum solution for durably leak-tight pipe connections"

The high-precision press-jaw guidance and colour-coded film with clear dimensional specifications that can be easily removed after pressing ensure even greater reliability and safety. This allows simple, visual pressing checks in addition to the "unpressed and leaking function" of the fittings. S-Press PLUS fittings are available in 16 mm to 32 mm sizes, and compatible with the manufacturer's existing composite pipes and pressing tools.

The Plus X Award is one of the world’s largest innovation prize for technology, sport and lifestyle. It distinguishes the best brands in the world for the quality and innovation prominence of their products. Independent specialist journalists and international personalities from 25 sectors make up the jury of the Plus X Award and decide on the awarding of the seal of quality. Here, the focus is laid on criteria such as innovative strength, functionality, exceptional design and user concepts or ergonomic or ecological product features, and quality seals are awarded in a wide range of fields.
